Tooth Fairy Sponsorship
WHAT IS THE MONEY TO BE USED FOR?
The present waterwheel at Combe Mill was installed around 1860 and it runs on a timber shaft. On the end of this axle tree is a pit-gear which transfers the water power to drive machinery. This pit-gear had oak wooden teeth which were replaced in 2004 with hornbeam that are now breaking and being replaced by new oak teeth you can sponsor.
There are 162 gear teeth to be made of oak and the cost of the materials and labour is significant.
We are seeking sponsors to provide a minimum of £20 per tooth towards the cost.
Each tooth is being numbered and a scroll of honour is displayed in the gear-room to record the names of sponsors.
Please send us your completed form once you have made your payment so that we can send your certificate.
